Comments - Beautiful Hiroshige design of pilgrims paying a visit to Benten Shrine at Enoshima in Sagami Province. Groups of women and girls dressed in matching kimono and carrying umbrellas walk along the shore, making their way across the narrow stretch of land to reach the sacred shrine, which is located on the islet. The animated figures are carefully detailed, chatting and interacting as they continue their journey, dressed in attractive summer kimono. White-capped waves crash upon the beach and the sails of several boats dot the ocean. A wonderful subject.
