Beauties with Mirrors Pillar Print

Comments - Intriguing image of two young women relaxing in their private quarters, each holding a hand mirror. The standing beauty looks carefully at the back of her lacquer mirror, her image darkly reflected in the surface of the lacquered object. Her companion kneels with a mirror on her lap, her robe loosely tied around her. Her gray kimono is patterned with tiny white dots and bordered with origami cranes. Beautifully detailed with delicate embossing in the white kimono collar. A fascinating Edo era subject.

Artist - Utamaro (1750 - 1806)

Image Size - 20 1/2" x 6 5/8" + right margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Faint spotting and toning near edges, creasing, small stain at upper right. Please note: folded by publisher for storage, will be shipped folded, could be flattened to frame. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
