Imperial Palace Entrance Gate

Comments - Rare original painting by Tokuriki of one of the entrances to the Imperial Palace in Kyoto. A roof set of heavy wooden gates leads to the inner courtyard, with a railing across the entrance between the outer walls. A pair of lampposts frames the entryway, with pine trees at left and in the distance. Painted on silk mounted to a traditional shikishiban format board, with artist's signature at lower left.

Artist - Tokuriki (1902 - 1999)

Size - 10 5/8" x 9 3/8"

Condition - With excellent detail as shown. Toning and spotting, small dents and creasing at edges, board slightly curled. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
