Evening Amusements, 1864

Comments - Charming image of beauties amusing themselves on an early spring evening. A woman kneels in the room at right, gesturing at the women boating in the pond below. The two seated beauties wave back at her as a third poles the craft through the water. Two other companions watch from a small island, reached by crossing an arched bridge beneath a willow tree in the distance. Blossoming plum branches frame the scene at right. An attractive design, nicely colored and shaded, with embossing in the white kimono collar at right.
