Beauty with an Umbrella Kakemono

Comments - Attractive kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty hurrying through the street under an umbrella. She looks over her shoulder with a somewhat dismayed expression, her mouth slightly agape. She wears a gray kimono patterned with blue leaves and tiny white gourds, tied with a blue-green obi that reverses to alternating bands of red and green decorated with clouds and stylized dragons. Her hair is smoothed back into a sleek bun, adorned with a few simple ornaments, and she wears stylish two-tone lipstick. A charming design, beautifully suited to the vertical kakemono format.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 29 1/8" x 9 3/4"

Condition - With excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels. A few small wormholes and holes, small loss near bottom left of bottom panel, repaired, blends well. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
