View of Edogawa from under the Ichikawa Bridge

Comments - Peaceful view of Edogawa from beneath the Ichikawa Bridge, the sky scudded with clouds tinged with softy rosy light as the sun sets. Boats make their way along the quiet surface of the water, the surface reflecting faint shadows. At left, a cow meanders down a green slope, and buildings can be seen in the distance on either side of the river. Mountains in gray silhouette line the horizon, with the snow-capped peak of Mt. Fuji just visible at right. A lovely, serene landscape, with the bridge pillar framing the scene adding a sense of scale. Beautifully colored and detailed with soft shading.

Artist - Gihachiro Okuyama (1907 - 1981)

Image Size - 9 1/2" x 14 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight tape remnants on reverse at corners from previous folio mounting. Faint toning, two faint diagonal creases, a couple small creases near edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
