Yamauba and Kintaro

Comments - The most famous of Utamaro's lovely portraits of Kintaro with his mother Yamauba. A wonderful expression of maternal love as Yamauba cuddles her young boy. She presses her cheek next to his as she hugs him close to her chest, her long hair flowing over her shoulders. An attractive image with beautiful fine line work in the hair and eyebrows.
