Comments - Fantastic illustration of Shigemori's retainer Nanba Rokuro Tsuneto visiting the Dragon Palace, having reached the underwater mansion by diving through the pool of Nunobiki Waterfall. He stands on a walkway at left with a determined expression as a young woman with a fish atop her head gestures towards the palace. At right, the beautiful Dragon Princess welcomes him with a smile, waving her fan above her head. She wears elegant robes and a dragon headdress, and all her attendants have sea creatures or shells atop their heads. A pavilion at left holds the sacred jewel resting on a cloth atop a red lacquer stand. White-capped waves froth and foam about the palace, while swirling clouds drift across the top of the scene. An incredible design, wonderfully detailed.
