Series; The Sixty-nine Stations of the Kisokaido, 1852

The Toda River at Itabashi: Arashi Kichisaburo III as Aboshi Samojiro - Wonderfully expressive portrait of Arashi Kichisaburo III as Aboshi Samojiro, looking to the side with an alarmed expression as he takes a toothpick from his mouth, his eyes wide with fright. A blue and white cloth is draped over one shoulder of his plain gray kimono, which hangs open at the chest, and his hair is pulled back into a slender topknot. The view behind him shows a ferry crossing the Toda River at Itabashi Station. A handsome design with a poignant figure and fine shading in the water and sky. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Image Size - Approximately 14" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Vertical crease at center. A few smallholes repaired from reverse. Slight toning as shown. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
