Series; True Feelings Compared: The Founts of Love

Shirokiya Okoma and Obana Saizaburo - Moving image of the young beauty Shirokiya Okoma and her lover, the hairdresser Obana Saizaburo. Okoma is distraught that her father has arranged a marriage for her with another man, whom she does not love. She wipes a tear from her eye as she holds onto the red obi of Saizaburo, who looks down with a painfully unhappy expression. A barber's wooden chest rests on the floor at right, with combs tucked in the top compartment. A handsome portrait of this tragic couple, with beautiful embossed detail in the striped kimono.
