Lasting Impressions of a Later Genji Collection - Handsome image from a series of diptychs illustrating the famous Japanese novel "The Tale of Genji." Each print illustrates a chapter in Murasaki's beloved story with a scene from the life of Prince Genji, a nobleman of the Minamoto Clan. Beautifully drawn figures are accompanied by elegant furnishings, set against a background of subtle embossed patterns and clouds of confetti. Lovely detail in the sumptuous kimono fabrics and household items. A beautifully printed series dating from 1857 to 1861.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. A few wormholes and small holes, repaired. toning, slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
