Series; Modern Style Examples of Famous Actors and Their Poems

Nakamura Tsuruzo I, 1860 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Nakamura Tsuruzo I as a worried looking man. He stares to the side with an unhappy grimace, his brows furrowed. He wears a blue-gray outer robe over a green kimono, and has a black cloth wrapped around his head. The figure appears on a fan-shaped inset, with a folding fan below with a verse on it. Butterflies and plants appear in the background in silhouette against the evening sky. An interesting design from a rarely seen series.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4" + margins as shown
