Strolling along the Riverbank

Comments - Attractive scene of two beauties strolling along the Sumida River in Tokyo. The woman at left smiles back over her shoulder at her companion, who carries a Western style umbrella and has a toothpick in the corner of her mouth. A cherry tree covered with pink and white blossoms frames the blue sky overhead, the water below dotted with boats of all sizes. A large banner runs across the top and hangs down around the sides of the image, framed by a deep purple border. An interesting design with lively color and fine bokashi shading in the sky.

Artist - Hiroshige III (1843 - 1894)

Image Size - 9 5/8" x 13 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Some toning and staining at edges. A few small holes repaired from reverse. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
