Prince Genji visiting Chigogafuchi in Enoshima, 1856

Comments - Fantastic triptych of Prince Genji watching diving girls from the rocky shore at Chigogafuchi near Enoshima. At left a woman swims through the undulating waves, looking back over her shoulder. The nobleman sits on a cushion draped over the rocks in the center, one sandal kicked off, smiling as a diver grabs hold of the shore with a large abalone shell in her other hand. The prince's young sword bearer kneels beside him at left while two beauties watch with interest at right. A handsome design with soft shading in the waves and sky, a red glow spreading along the horizon as the sun sets.
