Couple on a Verandah Overlooking Rice Paddies

Comments - Attractive scene of a young couple on a verandah with a pine tree below and a view of rice paddies in the distance. The man rests his arm over the railing as he holds a slender pipe. He wears a coat over a wood grain patterned kimono, his hair pulled back into a topknot. His companion stands behind him, dressed in a tie-dyed kimono tied with a diamond print obi. A path leads between the flooded fields in the distance as the tiny figures of farmers bend over the water planting rice. A charming design with beautiful detail, and a wonderful 18th century print by Koryusai.

Artist - Koryusai (1735 - 1790)

Image Size - 10 1/4" x 7 1/2" + left margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small holes and thinning spots, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
