Mishima: Segawa Kikunojo V as Taruya Osen

Series: The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido, 1852

Mishima: Segawa Kikunojo V as Taruya Osen - Attractive portrait of Segawa Kikunojo V portraying the young beauty Taruya Osen. She wears a striped kimono in muted colors, a blue and white towel tossed over one shoulder and a tie-dyed robe tucked under her arm. She smiles as she looks over her shoulder, showing tiny white even teeth, her hair pulled back into a smooth bun. A small comb is slipping loose at right, and a few loose wisps frame her face. The background shows porters carrying palanquins, arriving at the station of Mishima. Mt. Fuji appears beyond the gray mountain range, the shape suggested with soft blue shading. A charming design with very fine line work in the hair, and burnishing in the black kimono collar and obi.
