His eyes are wide and his mouth is agape as he tries to comprehend just what is happening. Is he surprised by this modern device that makes thing appear up close, or is he stunned by whatever he actually sees taking place? The landscape behind him shows rice fields stretching out across a plain with mountains bordering the horizon. A great expressive image.
