Beauty with a Watch Chain

Series; True Beauties, 1897 - 1898

Beauty with a Watch Chain - Handsome portrait of a beauty sitting quietly, looking calmly ahead. She wears a finely striped kimono tied with an obi that reverses from olive green with a pattern of Genji symbols and yarn spool to bright red with tied-dyed flowers. Interestingly, a watch is tucked into the sash, with the watch chain pinned under her kimono collar. Her white under robe is delicately embossed and features a design of leaves and pink blossoms and buds. A lovely image, beautifully printed.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 11 3/4" x 8 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Some prints have slight ink offsetting or soiling. Please see photos for individual condition. Generally in good condition overall.
