Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of a monk grabbing the end of a scroll depicting a horse. He frowns as he clenches a small wooden hammer between his teeth, used to strike the gong fastened to his chest. He wears a gray robe shaded in blue, with a rusty red cap over his shoulder and a gray cloth wrapped about his head. A willow tree frames the scene overhead. A handsome, expressive figure in a bold pose.
