Otani Tomomatsu I as Lion Dance Yukichi, 1867 - Great kabuki portrait of Otani Tomomatsu I as Lion Dance Yukichi, looking up with a startled expression, his eyes wide. He carried a large standard trimmed with brown fringe, holding it with both hands against his shoulder. His thinning hair is pulled back into a slender topknot, a white towel wrapped around his neck. His purple kimono features small white blossoms and other motifs, worn over a red under robe. A dynamic composition, the figure nicely set off by the bright blue background and the colorful insets above.

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 3/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous folio mounting. Very slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
