Publisher - Adachi from a rare series of Edo masterwork designs. Adachi publisher seal in margin or on reverse.

Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Hour of the Dragon (8 am) - Two young beauties slip under heavy blankets at the end of a long night, a pipe and a cup by the bedside. The seated woman's kimono falls away from her chest in an alluring view. This is one of the most sought after designs of Utamaro's "Twelve Hours in the Yoshiwara" series.

Condition - With excellent detail as shown. A couple faint spots in top margin, a few light creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
