Lilies by Zuigetsu Ikeda (1877 - 1944)

Original Zuigetsu Ikeda (1877 - 1944) Japanese Woodblock Print
Lilies

First Edition

Post-WWII Estate Collection - In today's auctions we're pleased to offer a special estate collection of beautiful, mid-twentieth century floral designs that date from just after WWII. An American collected these Uchida Publisher prints in Japan immediately following the war, so they are all first edition woodblocks from the late-1940s to early 1950s, an important consideration since many of these designs continued to be printed much later. Carefully observed and beautifully drawn, these attractive images feature a range of color from soft pastels to rich jewel tones. These lovely modern designs are a great choice to collect or display, either singly or in groups.

Lilies - Lovely design of white lilies against a soft green-gray background, with an orange lily in the distance adding a pop of color. The blossoms are delicately shaded with touches of green and pink, adding dimension, and the foliage is treated with stripes of muted color. A striking floral image, perfect for display.

Artist - Zuigetsu Ikeda (1877 - 1944)

Image Size - 14" x 10 1/2" + margins as shown
