Original Sadanobu (1809 - 1879) Japanese Woodblock Print
Tsukudajima from Eitai Bridge

Series; Cutout Pictures of One Hundred Views of Edo, circa 1858

Cutout Pictures of One Hundred Views of Edo - Handsome design from a series of cutout or harimaze pictures of Edo, based on Hiroshige's popular "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo." Harimaze were prints featuring small scenes designed to be cut apart and pasted into albums or applied to screens. Sadanobu has created miniature versions of Hiroshige's classic ukiyo-e designs, designing charming scenes that closely follow the originals. Detailed with fine line work and soft bokashi shading. An interesting complement to Hiroshige's famous woodblocks.

Image Size - 4 1/2" x 4 3/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A couple small holes, repaired. Paper remnants on reverse at edges from previous folio mounting. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
