Evening Bell

Series; Eight Scenic Views of Ryogoku, 1869

Evening Bell - Lovely design of a beauty and a young girl strolling through the Ryogoku neighborhood as evening falls. Both are dressed in elegant kimono, the beauty's robe shaded from blue to yellow and trimmed in a green pattern. She lifts up her kimono hem as she walks, holding her sleeve to her chin as she smiles in amusement at the girl. Buckets of water for fighting fires are stacked at lower left, and pine trees are shown in silhouette beyond the wall behind them, with a temple at upper right sounding the evening bell. A charming design with handsome shading in the sky.
