Wakatsuru of the Wakamatsuya

Series; Array of Supreme Beauties of the Present Day

Wakatsuru of the Wakamatsuya - Fantastic design by Utamaro showing the famous beauty Wakatsuru unrolling a scroll, a calligraphy brush caught between her teeth. She looks down with concentration, focusing on her task, a white cloth tying back her elegant hairstyle. The scroll is beautifully embossed with an allover pattern, a lovely detail. A great choice to collect or display. From a limited edition of reprints published by Uchida, numbered 64/500 on reverse.

Artist - Utamaro (1750 - 1806)

Image Size - 15" x 9 7/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A few faint creases. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
