Ishii Hanzo

Series; Stories of Dutifulness and Loyalty in Revenge, circa 1847 - 1848

Ishii Hanzo - Handsome portrait of the young warrior Ishii Hanzo on one knee, looking over his shoulder with a determined frown. He grasps his sword in one hand, a folded petition tucked inside his black kimono. The robe is tucked into striped hakama pants tied with a brown sash, worn over a suit of armor. A red band is tied around his forehead, his hair sticking out alongside his face. A nice expressive figure from a rarely seen Kuniyoshi series.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 10"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Vertical fold near right edge. Slight separation at ends of fold, a few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling and rubbing, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
