Sword Bearer in a Garden, 1861

Comments - Interesting scene of a young sword bearer in a palace garden, crouching on a stepping stone in the middle of a stream. He holds his master's sword upright in his hand as he looks back over his shoulder. Ornate lanterns trimmed with tassels hang overhead, and an intricate railing atop a stone embankment surrounds the water's edge. Nicely detailed.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A few small holes, repaired. Creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
