Series: The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido, 1852

Goyu: Mimasu Daigoro IV as Yamamote Kanzuke - Fantastic actor portrait of Mimasu Daigoro IV as Yamamote Kanzuke in the play "Honcho Nijushiko" (Twenty-four Examples of Filial Piety in Japan). His massive figure, with a large bag slung over his shoulder, fills the composition, creating an imposing appearance in contrast to the rather woeful expression on his face. He wears flared wig, beautifully detailed with fine line work. The landscape above shows a road through a village lined with buildings. A handsome image with a fine expressive face.

Image Size - 14" x 9 5/8"
