Iwai Hanshiro as Zangiri Otomi, 1872 - Attractive kabuki portrait of Iwai Hanshiro as the beauty Zangiri Otomi, the mistress of a gang leader who falls on hard times after falling in love with a dissolute young man named Yosaburo. She looks up with a happy grin as she kneels beside a brazier, one sleeve resting atop a slender pipe. She wears a blue and black checked kimono over a red under robe, a white towel draped around her neck. Her cropped hair is pulled back into a short ponytail, a comb slipping loose at the side and a few wisps framing her face. A lively design with vibrant color and fine bokashi shading in the background, detailed with embossing in the towel and white kimono collar.
