Byokwansaku Yoyu Strangling his Unfaithful Wife

Series; One Hundred and Eight Heroes of the Popular Suikoden

Byokwansaku Yoyu Strangling his Unfaithful Wife - Dramatic print depicting the Suikoden hero Byokwansaku Yoyu simultaneously strangling his unfaithful wife and her maid. Yoyu's friend, Sekishu, had seen Yoyu's wife having an affair with a monk, which he reported to Yoyu. The pair confronted the wife, who in turn accused Sekishu of molesting her. Yoyu then sent his friend away, so Sekishu promptly killed the monk and brought the couple to see the body. Upon seeing her lover dead, Yoyu's wife confessed to the affair. The enraged Yoyu straddles his wife, gripping her neck as she pleads for mercy, her hands clasped together in prayer. With his other hand, he chokes the maid, who grimaces and flails her arm, trying to escape his grasp. The warrior clenches a sword between his teeth, his eyes bulging as he glares at the hapless woman. He wears elegant robes and tall black leather boot, and a blue cloth cap. A dynamic composition with wonderfully expressive faces and beautiful color.
