Series; Outer Chiyoda Palace (Chiyoda no on-omote)

Hunting at Koganegahara - A fantastic Meiji era triptych showing the shogun's hunting party at Koganehara, four mounted riders among them. This type of hunting was reserved for members of the upper class and these important feudal lords are enjoying a typical hunt outing, their attendants carrying a boars and what might be a wolf or fox tied to poles. The silhouette of Mt. Fuji rises in the distance. Nice embossed detail in the white cloth banners, with burnished detail on the saddle of the first rider. A beautiful composition with wonderful color and detail.

Image Size - 14" x 27 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, not attached at the seams, backed with paper. Slight soiling, a few light spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
