Hachimantaro's Warriors Crossing the Oi River

Comments - Handsome scene of the retainers of general Minamoto no Yoshiie, known as Hachimantaro, crossing the Oi River on a wooden bridge. Dressed in full armor, the walk along, two warriors carrying banners and a third bearing a fringed standard topped with the paulownia crest of the Minamoto Clan. The samurai at upper left wears an unusual helmet shaped line a snail. A colorful design, nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Partially backed with paper. A few small wormholes, repaired, blends well. Slight creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
