Imagiri, between Maisaka and Arai: Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Tomi Kashinosuke, 1852 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as the nobleman Tomi Kashinosuke. He wears a blue kamishimo with a design of herons in flight over a brocade kimono, a tall black court cap fastened under his chin with a twisted blue cord. He stares ahead with a solemn expression, his brows slightly furrowed. The view above shows pine trees overlooking the water, and butterflies frame the title cartouche. An attractive design with a subtle burnished pattern in the black court cap, and soft bokashi shading.
