Small boats carrying sailors clash with the approaching Chinese, each side firing on each other, creating small clouds of smoke with each shot. At far left, a Chinese soldier recoils as he is hit, dropping his gun into the water. A Chinese vessel painted orange looms behind them, while another enemy ship sinks beneath the waves in an explosion of orange smoke. A lively scene, nicely detailed and colored.
