Comments - Handsome view of the Third National Industrial Exposition at Ueno Park in Tokyo in 1890, the grounds bustling with visitors. The beauty in the foreground wears the latest Western fashions, including a bustled dress with overskirt and fitted bodice, a bonnet adorned with flowers and ribbons, and a parasol trimmed with fringe. At left, a few women pause in front of a torii gate, while soldiers on horseback are gathered at right. Colorful flags and paper lanterns hang overhead, and the cherry trees in the background are covered with blossoms. An interesting subject, beautifully detailed and colored.
