Beauties in a Teahouse

Comments - Attractive design of three beauties in a teahouse, the two women at right playing a hand game called "ken." The beauty in the center strikes a pose with her hands held up like paws, looking over her shoulder with a rather unhappy expression. Lacquer trays holding dishes of food rest on the floor behind her, and a shamisen case can be seen at far left. On the shoji windows behind them, patrons and entertainers are shown in silhouette, one man dancing about and waving his folding fan. A great image, nicely colored and detailed. We've never come across this subject in reprint before.

Artist - Eizan (1787 - 1867)

Image Size - 10 1/2" x 21 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Please see photos for details. Excellent overall.
