Catching Fireflies

Comments - Lovely triptych depicting a group of beauties and children catching fireflies on a summer night. At left, two women reach into the sky with fans to gently bat the insects down. A young boy tugs on one of their sleeves as he looks up, an insect cage in hand. At right, a boy wades into a stream, pulling back his sleeve as he reaches for a bug in the reeds. A delightful view of this favorite pastime, detailed with soft shading in the evening sky. Rarely seen in reprint.
