Prince Genji's Cormorant Fishing Excursion, 1864

Comments - Attractive scene of Prince Genji on an outing to view cormorant fishermen. He sits in a pavilion overlooking the water, grinning as he looks over his shoulder. A beauty pours sake into the cup in his outstretched hand, and a meal is set out on a lacquer tray behind her. Cherry blossoms frame the scene at top and bottom. A charming design, nicely colored and detailed, with light embossing in the white areas of Genji's kimono and the beauty's white collar.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 5/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A few small holes and thinning spots, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling slight rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
