Shirabyoshi Dancer

Comments - Handsome portrait of a shirabyoshi dancer performing for a nobleman, gracefully moving her flowing sleeves. She wears an elegant purple robe over another purple kimono tucked into red hakama pants, a sword at her side and a tall yellow court cap tied under her chin. The nobleman sits at right next to a large drum, watching her solemnly, and a red and green striped drapery frames the scene behind her. An interesting subject, nicely detailed.

Artist - Kiyochika (1847 - 1915)

Image Size - 13" x 9"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Horizontal and vertical folds. A few small holes, repaired, blends well. Creasing and soiling, rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details.
