Beauty Returning from a Bath Kakemono

Comments - Charming vertical diptych or kakemono of a beauty returning from the bath, smiling as she looks down. She carries a robe in a bundle under one arm, her other hand holding a dotted towel draped over her shoulder. She wears a boldly checked black and white kimono over a red under robe, tied with a black obi that reverses to striped brocade. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth knot fastened with a red ribbon and adorned with a comb and a few hairpins, a couple of loose wisps framing her face. An attractive Edo era beauty portrait.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 26 1/4" x 8 5/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Two panels, attached at the seams, backed with paper. A few tiny wormholes, repaired, blends well. Creasing, faint toning, slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
