Playing Hanetsuki - Lovely woodblock print of three young beauties playing a game of hanetsuki, a traditional game similar to badminton played at New Year's. They each hold decorative paddles called hagoita, and the feathered shuttlecock floats in midair in the center panel. Gorgeous detail in the elegant kimono fabrics, including embossed details in the white kimono trim. A beautiful image of a typical pastime in the palace.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 27 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, not attached at the seams. A few thinning spots at edges, one small hole, small loss at left edge of right panel in margin, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling, a few creases, a few small spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
