Decorum (Rei) - Lovely scene of a woman helping a beauty on with her outer robe. She holds the robe over the beauty's shoulders with a quiet solicitude. The beauty wears a white kimono with an embossed diamond pattern, the warm yellow outer robe patterned with pine sprigs and circular motifs. Her companion wears a dark olive green kimono with a design of bamboo leaves covered with snow, tied with a red scroll print obi. A standing screen at left depicts a Chinese style lion with a red mane and tail. Beautifully drawn with graceful line work and delicate features. A classic Harunobu beauty subject, also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
