Original Nobukazu (1874 - 1944) Japanese Woodblock Print
Winter Visitor, 1896

Comments - Charming scene of a beauty arriving for a visit at a private home. She stands at the garden gate, accompanied by a young girl carrying a wrapped gift. Her hostess hurries through the garden to welcome her, a spring snow covering the bright red berries on a nandina bush. At right, an inset shows a nobleman trudging through the snow, his sword bearer at his side and a servant holding an umbrella over him. Lovely detail and nice calligraphic line work on the tree and garden fence. A handsome triptych.

Artist - Nobukazu (1874 - 1944)

Image Size - 14" x 28" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Tear at bottom of right panel, a few small thinning spots, repaired, blends well. Creasing, slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
