Comments - Attractive scene of two elegant beauties in an interior. The kneeling woman in the foreground wears a black kimono patterned with colorful maple leaves, smiling eagerly as she leans forward. Her companion holds a woven rattan or bamboo pillow. A wisp of smoke rises from an incense burner atop at stand at left, with a small floral arrangement in a vase below. The folding screen behind him depicts butterflies fluttering above yamabuki or yellow mountain roses. A charming image, nicely detailed.
