Series; Comparison of Charms at Famous Places in Edo
Night View of Ryogoku Bridge, circa 1830s - Lovely image of a beauty placing a lighted oil lamp into a paper lantern at a tea stand. She wears an intricately patterned kimono tied with a gourd print obi that reverses to black, a towel draped over her shoulder and a maple leaf print apron tied around her waist. A floral-shaped inset at upper left shows a view of fireworks exploding in the gray evening sky above Ryogoku Bridge. A great design.
Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)
Image Size - 14 3/4" x 10"
Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Stitching holes along bottom edge from previous folio binding, a few small holes, repaired, blends well. Toning, slight soiling, slight rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
