Beauties in an Iris Garden

Series; Today's Elegant Manners and Customs

Beauties in an Iris Garden - Lovely scene of young women visiting an iris garden in summer. The beauty at center is cutting flowers for an arrangement, a pair of scissors in her hand. She pauses to chat with a companion leaning over the verandah at right, while at left, a girl points out a blossom to her mother. Other women wander through the garden behind them, partially hidden by the thickly growing slender leaves. A charming summer subject with bright touches of color in the attractive kimono fabrics.

Artist - Miyagawa Shuntei (1873 - 1914)

Image Size - 26 1/2" x 12 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This triptych with excellent color and detail. Three separate panels. Backed with old folio paper. Some light toning at edges. Some minor soiling. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
