Beauties at Leisure

Comments - Attractive scene of beauties enjoying an afternoon of leisure in an elegant interior. The beauty and young girl at left are busy creating floral stems for an arrangement, using strips of green paper to apply leaves and pink blossoms to slender bamboo poles. A small wooden board on the floor holds paste while a scissors and knife rest on the floor nearby. Behind them, a girl plays with a large doll in front of a go board. The standing woman in the center pulls up the collar of her outer robe, which is shaded from deep blue to yellow and bordered with maple leaves and flowing water. A kimono with a colorful bird perched on a tree peony hangs over a stand behind her. At right, a woman adds tea to a teapot as she kneels beside a brazier. A fascinating subject filled with interesting detail, attractively colored.
