Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Comments - Beautiful Hiroshige pillar print from one of Hiroshige's flowers and birds series. The print shows a wild or mallard duck floating in the water, in the middle of winter, with the snow-covered bank in the foreground and some reeds above. A poem is inscribed at the top left. Wonderful detail in the feathers and lovely shading in the water and sky.
