Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Nobleman and Footman

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a yakko or footman arguing with a nobleman. He kneels at left, drawing his sword as he scowls over his shoulder at the daimyo. His green outer robe patterned with leaves and chrysanthemums is worn over a red under robe trimmed with swinging fringe. The nobleman gestures at his servant with a folding fan, a poem slip in his other hand. A handsome design with expressive figures.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 18"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. A few small holes, small losses at corners, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
