Onoe Kikugoro IV as Okoyo and Bando Hikosaburo V as Genzaburo, 1856 - Handsome kabuki scene of the actors Onoe Kikugoro IV and Bando Takesaburo I in the roles of the young lovers Okoyo and Genzaburo. The beauty shyly covers her mouth with her kimono sleeve as the young man reaches out a dipper for a drink of water form a basin set outside. A blue and white cotton towel hangs from a bamboo rod at right, and a folding screen shields a bed and a lamp. The inset above by Gengyo Miyagi shows the thatched roof of a home. An attractive subject.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail. A few small holes and losses at edges repaired from reverse. Some toning and rubbing at edges as shown. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
